Declarations of Interest

During all discussions individuals are required to declare potential conflicts of interest and in such cases can be disqualified from further discussion at the Chairman's discretion. These declarations are supplementary to interests declared on appointment to the Committee and annually thereafter.

Declarations are made in accordance with the code of practice.

A record is kept in the Department of Health of the names of members who have declared interests to the Department on appointment, as the interest first arises or through an annual declaration, and the nature of the interest. Information from the record will be made available by the Secretariat to bona-fide enquirers and published by any other means as and where the Department deems appropriate.
